So long, Joe

It's been a bit quiet here at Frannie's Doghouse. The disappointment of yet another early postseason exit by the Sharks is starting to wear off and we're waiting with interest to see what Doug Wilson has in store for the team. There's been a lot of free agent movement and some interesting trades around the league (cya later, Chris Pronger!), but the Sharks have been on the quiet side in comparison to some teams. We like the 4-year contract for Ryane Clowe. We were very interested in Jonas Gustavsson, but he decided to sign with Toronto. Letting Grier, Goc, and Plihal go is interesting, but we feel like there's more to come. And so we wait.

In the meantime, we say goodbye to the excellent Joe Sakic. That guy was simply awesome to watch...when he wasn't terrorizing the Sharks. He finishes with 625 goals, 1013 assists (1641 points) in 1378 games over the span of 20 years, which doesn't even come close to telling the whole story. Awesome.
